Wife Charged With Husband's Death Weeks After Charges Weren't Filed Against Son

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) — A woman has been arrested in the death of her husband weeks after investigators declined to file charges against her 10-year-old son.

Carissa Anne Aldrich, 38, faces involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment and destruction of evidence charges in the death of her husband, 45-year-old Tim Michael Aldrich.

Tim Aldrich was found dead in a home on the 700 block of Overture Lane on Oct. 25 with stab wounds. His wife had called police saying she couldn't wake him up. Investigators at the time said her 10-year-old son stabbed him to death, and declined to file charges.

On Friday, police arrested Carissa Aldrich after they said evidence pointed to her actions contributing to the death of her husband.

The 10-year-old has been placed with Children's Protective Services. No charges have been filed against him.
