Who Left A Heart In A Ziploc Bag In The Middle Of A Field?

NORWALK, OHIO (CBS13) — Investigators in an Ohio town are puzzled why a human heart in a Ziploc bag was left in a field.

An EMS crew found the heart that police say was in good condition and had only recently started to decompose. There's no indication yet whether it was in a crime.

Initially, the paramedic threw the heart away, but investigators told the paramedic to retrieve it for an investigation.

"We don't have a body that we're missing a heart from," said Sgt. Jim Fulton.
