While Family Grieves Family Member, Burglars Hit Utah Home

OGDEN, Utah (AP) - Police are searching for burglars who made off with about $35,000 worth of items from an Ogden house while a grieving family was attending a viewing for a deceased family member.

Kristin and Jeff Millard and their four children returned from a viewing for her sister-in-law, Lindsay Richards, to discover their home had been burglarized Monday night.

They told police that among stolen items were a car in the garage and Kristin Millard's purse containing her wallet and credit cards. Also taken were computers, Ipads, Ipods, a video camera and jewelry.

But Jeff Millard says the burglary is nothing compared with what his wife's brother is going through with his five children after Richards' death to cancer.

The car was later recovered with minor damage.
