What's Going On With Highway 65, Vic's Supermarket And Beerman's Restaurant?

PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) — It's been three years since they cut the ribbon to welcome the new Highway 65 bypass in Placer County, and one CBS13 viewer wants an update on the original plan to expand the project.

The four-lane construction plan to extend into Wheatland is not going to happen, at least for now. The $30 million estimate from 2012 would be much higher, and the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency says its' focus is on reconfiguring the Interstate 80-Highway 65 interchange and widening of Highway 65 from Galleria Boulevard to Lincoln.

Eight months after the Vic's Supermarket shut down, neighbors are complaining the empty building has turned into an eyesore.

The city says there are no plans by the property owner of the site at this time.
