Witnesses told CHP that a motorcyclist was speeding down the freeway, weaving in and out of traffic, when it sideswiped a car and crashed.
Authorities say the motorcyclist died.
The accident caused major delays for those traveling on westbound I-80 as all but one lane were blocked for a time. All lanes were reopened just before 8 a.m.
