Driver Arrested For DUI After Deadly Crash In West Sacramento

WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A deadly crash in West Sacramento ended with a driver in custody.

The crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on West Capitol Avenue.

Investigators say a 23-year-old man was driving under the influence with a suspended license when he hit another car and killed a female pedestrian.

The suspect is facing felony DUI and voluntary manslaughter charges. He has been identified as 23-year-old West Sacramento resident Gerardo Lopez.

The driver in the other car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
