Water Main Break Floods Part Of Land Park Street

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Water is pooling outside of two houses in Land Park after a water main break early Friday morning.

The scene is near Land Park Drive and 12th Avenue.

Sacramento Police say an officer drove by the area just before 4:30 a.m. and spotted the water hazard. A city utility crew was then called to the scene to shut the water off.

Neighbors in the area say the water was gushing for two hours.

The Sacramento Department of Utilities says they do not know why the pipe broke, but it is an older pipe. Officials guess about 100,000 gallons of water was lost, but it is unclear exactly how much really gushed out of the broken pipe.
