Water Experts Calling For Changes Of How State Deals With Drought

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Water experts are urging the state to re-think how it deals with the drought by laying out a series of challenges.

Experts say water levels are getting lower underground, and there's a need to drill even deeper wells.

They are also calling for less flexibility on farms during droughts, specifically when it comes to growing crops like almonds that require more water.

Another challenge is our depleting snowpack and figuring out how to store precipitation if it comes down as rain instead of snow, say experts.
