Vogt, Gray To Represent A's At All-Star Game

The Oakland A's, despite their less than stellar record, will have two players representing them in Cincinnati for this year's Mid Summer Classic. Both catcher Stephen Vogt and starting pitcher Sonny Gray will play for the American League, most likely as reserve players. Gray could still end up being selected as the games starter.

Vogt was third in the fan voting behind the Royals' Salvador Perez and the Blue jays' Russell Martin, while Gray  will be up there with Dallas Keuchel of the Astros, Felix Hernandez of the Mariners and Chris Sale of the White Sox for the starting spot.

Former A's third baseman Josh Donaldson set an MLB record for fan votes, earning more than 14 million votes and Yoenis Cespedes, now with the Detroit Tigers, was picked as a final vote candidate.
