VIDEO: Drunk NASCAR Fan Sits Atop Safety Fence Above Track During Race

Ever since the tragic incident in New York that took the life of Kevin Ward Jr. when NASCAR champ Tony Stewart struck and killed the young man, you would think that security at NASCAR races would change their procedures during the race to ensure that a similar incident does not happen to a fellow driver.

So far, so good.

However, when fans start to take these risks and throw themselves into these dangerous and life-threatening situations, one has to think how bone-headed, and drunk, this man had to be to think that climbing the safety fence between the grandstands and the racetrack could turn out well for him.

Fortunately for him, he did not lose his footing on the fencing and fall into the 43-car field during Saturday night's race at Richmond International Raceway.

The drunk fan comes into frame around the 2:20 mark.
