VIDEO: Drone Footage Shows Sharks Swimming Among Surfers

Oceano, Calif. (CBS Sacramento) -- A man who was hoping to capture scenic views of the California ocean instead spotted a shark swimming among unsuspecting surfers.

Drone owner Dustin McCaslin took his DJI Phantom 3 to Pismo State Beach Saturday morning to film footage and soon after noticed a huge shark swimming by several surfers, as reported by The Daily Mail. Another shark appears to join the predator at one point in the video.

McCaslin flew the drone back to land and showed the footage to a lifeguard who then alerted surfers and reportedly sent officials out to investigate.

The owner told The Blaze that he initially thought the dark images were clumps of seaweed, but then began to make out fins and a tail.

"As I got closer, I see it's not only a shark, but looks to be a great white," McCaslin told The Blaze.

The lifeguard who viewed the footage agreed that the images appeared to be sharks that were likely around 9 to 10 feet in length.
