Vandals Tag UC Davis Eggheads With 'Fire Katehi' Graffiti

DAVIS (CBS13) - Vandalism discovered on the UC Davis campus Sunday morning called for the firing of Chancellor Linda Katehi.

Several of the campus' iconic Egghead statues were spray painted over the weekend with the message "Fire Katehi."

Katehi is under fire for her work as a paid director for some for-profit organizations, including the DeVry Education Group. A recent report also revealed that Katehi received money as a board member of textbook publishing company John Wiley & Sons.

Friday night, students had organized a sit-in at Mrak Hall on campus to demand Katehi's resignation.

It is unclear who is behind the Egghead vandalism.

The graffiti was removed by Sunday night.
