Vacaville Intersection Closed Due To Hazmat Incident

VACAVILLE (CBS13) - A major intersection in Vacaville will be closed for several hours due to a hazmat incident, police say.

The intersection is at Peabody Road and Alamo Drive. Some jugs of what could be pool cleaner were found on the side of the road. Police say there is no immediate health concern for nearby residents, according to a Vacaville Police Department statement.

The jugs are not labeled, so hazmat workers are suiting up to fully investigate. A witness says the jugs fell of a truck, although police have not confirmed this reports.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area as the material, which may give off toxic fumes, is cleaned up.

Closures include Mariposa, California, and Tulare drives.

This is a developing story.
