US Border Patrol Agent From Roseville Killed On Arizona Highway

PHOENIX (CBS13/AP) — Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Thursday in honor of an on-duty U.S. Border Patrol agent who was killed in a rollover accident on Interstate 10 near Benson.

The governor's office has identified the agent who died in the Wednesday morning crash as Alexander Giannini, a Roseville native.

Another agent was injured in the wreck, but neither his name nor his condition has been disclosed.

Brewer's office say Giannini was based out of the Willcox Station and had been with the Border Patrol since 2009. Giannini was involved with the Roseville Police Department as an Explorer Scout from when he was 14 until he was 20.

"Our deepest sympathies are with Agent Giannini's family and his many friends and colleagues in both the Roseville Police Department and the U.S. Border Patrol's Wilcox, Arizona station," the Roseville Police Department wrote in a statement.

Giannini was a 2008 graduate of Roseville High School.
