Union Calls For Investigation Of Other UC Administrators For Conflicts

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - The largest union in the University of California system says an investigation into UC Davis Chancellor Linda Katehi should only be the beginning.

The union represents more than 22,000 service and patient-care technical workers.

In a statement, union leaders say Katehi isn't the only UC administrator engaging in activities that could be conflicts of interest. They are referring to the chancellor sitting on two boards -- both related to higher education.

The statement says the growing scandal involving Katehi calls for a "top to bottom, system-wide review of potential conflicts involving other university executives".

After months of turmoil and refusing to step down, Katehi was officially placed on leave Wednesday by UC president Janet Napolitano. The university is launching an investigation into Katehi and her activities as chancellor.
