UFC's Nick Diaz Arrested In Lodi On Suspicion Of DUI

LODI (CBS13) – Nick Diaz, a professional mixed martial arts fighter from Stockton, was arrested on suspicion of DUI last week, police confirm.

The incident happened back on Sept. 6 along the 600 block of East Pine Street, according to the Lodi Police Department. Diaz was said to be cooperative with officers during his arrest.

However, police say that during the booking process, Diaz asked to used the restroom only to try and make himself vomit. Due to his attempts, he was also booked for trying to destroy evidence and obstructing a police officer's investigation.

Friday, UFC released a statement on the arrest.

"We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering the facts. We understand that there is a legal process that will now take place and that Nick Diaz will have the opportunity to address the situation in the near future," the UFC wrote in a post on their website.

Diaz, 31, is a Stockton native and attended Tokay High School in Lodi.
