UC Davis Gets Past Long Beach State In OT, 73-67

DAVIS, Calif. (AP) - Corey Hawkins scored seven of his 28 points in extra time and UC Davis topped Long Beach State in overtime, 73-67 in a Big West Conference game Saturday night.

The win over the 49ers is Davis' first since 2009 and snapped an 11 game losing streak to Long Beach State.

David Samuels' jumper with 17:23 left in the second half gave Long Beach State the lead until Brynton Lemar's three-point play with :33 left to force overtime.

The 49ers (7-11, 1-1 Big West) took a 61-60 lead in overtime, but Hawkins scored to give the Aggies (12-3, 2-0) the lead followed it with a 3-pointer.

Michael Caffey missed a 3 to tie with :24 left but grabbed his own rebound and scored a layup to make it 68-67, but Darius Graham made three of four from the line and Hawkins added a pair of free throws to preserve the win.
