Two Pedestrians Hit By Vehicle In South Sacramento, 1 Killed

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle in South Sacramento on Tuesday morning has died.

A male and female pedestrian were in a parking lot of the 76 gas station at the intersection of  Freeport Boulevard and Fruitridge Road when they were hit by a white Dodge Neon. Both pedestrians suffered serious injuries. They were taken to the hospital where the man later died, according to a Sacramento Police Department statement.

The cause of the incident is under investigation. The driver of the vehicle was held at the scene by officers.

The identities of pedestrians have not been released.
