Two Fairfield Men Arrested In Connection With Mail Thefts

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) - Two Fairfield men have been arrested on charges of stealing mail after someone noticed them acting suspiciously.

Around 1 a.m. Sunday Fairfield police received a phone call from a concerned resident who reported that two men were acting suspiciously in the area. Officers went to the area and found the suspects who allegedly had stolen several pieces of mail from nearby residences, according to a statement from the Fairfield Police Department.

Police arrested Korey Smith, 30, of Fairfield, for petty theft, possession of stolen property, criminal conspiracy, and probation violation. They also arrested Michael Anderson, 34, of Fairfield, for criminal conspiracy.

Police urge residents to place a hold on mail delivery when going on vacation to help prevent mail theft.
