LOWE LAKE (CBS13) — A Lower Lake business owner whose dream business was destroyed by the Clayton Fire saw the damage for the first time Tuesday.

Brad Terrill owned the Tuscan Village, a complex of buildings that included winery, restaurant, bookstore and housing.

"The village had its own feel and flavor," Terrill said. "It was part of the community, it really was a matter of the community adopting it, very nicely and vice versa."

Terrill has been kept back from his property because of mandatory evacuations still in place, but CBS13 reporter Steve Large showed Terrilll the destroyed business using FaceTime.

"You've done me a big favor," Terrill said.

Terrill dreamed up the business after a family vacation to Italy decades ago.

He says he's invested half-a-million dollars in renovations over the years.
Now he's deciding whether to rebuild.

"My parting shot is hope, a lot of work ahead, and that's where I am," Terrill said.
