Truckee Police Arrest Leads To Discovery Of Brush Fire

Police in Truckee arrested an armed man in the Meadows area of Glenshire on Wednesday.

Police were notified that the subject, Fredrick Santos-Coy, was walking through the wooded area behind several of the estate-sized lots.

When police located 24-year-old Santos-Coy, he ran and fired gun shots in to the air.  Officers took Santos-Coy into custody without gunshots being fired by police.

According to Truckee Police Department, during the arrest, officers discovered a small brush fire in the area. No structures were threatened.

The connection of the fire and Santos-Coy is under investigation, but Truckee police said they do not believe there are any suspects outstanding.
