Triple-Digits In Sacramento Area Mean Empty Slides At Playgrounds

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The third day of triple-digit temperatures, paired with poor quality, are creating dangerous conditions for people outside in the Sacramento area.

Temperatures soaring well into the 100s were something the Huertas family planned for.

"For the last 11 years been living in Portland Oregon so not quite used to this heat," George Huertas said.

They came to McKinley Park early in the morning with their kids to avoid the heat, but even before noon, it was bad enough it was getting to them.

Most of the kids at the park decided to hang out in the shade to avoid the sun's rays. Slides were decidedly empty on a hot day.
