Tree falls and kills person in Placer County
OPHIR — A death investigation is underway in Placer County after a tree fell on someone.
Cal Fire's NEU division said it was a tree-cutting incident that happened Monday in the Ophir area, which is located just north of Newcastle and west of Auburn.
No other injuries were reported.
