Officer Shoots Suspect In Tracy During Chase

TRACY (CBS13) — Police say an officer shot a suspect in Tracy early Friday morning.

The scene is along Golden Springs Drive, but started along the 1800 block of Camellia Drive.

Tracy police say, around 2 a.m., they got several calls about a domestic disturbance and vandalism to a vehicle. Authorities said the caller stated the suspect was her boyfriend and that he was standing in the middle of the road armed with a knife.

An arriving officer engaged in a foot pursuit with the suspect, during which a second responding officer shot the suspect.

The suspect was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition, police said.

The police department said a knife was recovered at the scene and no officers were injured.

Due to the situation being an officer-involved shooting, Tracy police said a multi-agency critical incident investigation is underway and more details will be released as they become available.14
