Tornado Warning Part Of Wild Weather Day As Storm Brings Welcome Rain, Snow

By Kelly Ryan

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) — A wild weather day included a tornado warning for a portion of Sacramento County on Monday.

A storm cell brought heavy rains, hail and the possibility of a tornado. Radar echoes just before 6 p.m. indicated the possibility of a funnel cloud, but a combination of darkness, heavy rain and the rural area made it difficult to spot if one descended.

Many nearby residents were first alerted to the possible tornado through emergency texts.

Radar indicated the funnel cloud was eight miles east of Elk Grove near Sheldon.
