Tiger Dies At Sacramento Zoo After Fight With Another Tiger

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A tiger has died at the Sacramento Zoo after getting into a fight with another tiger.

Zoo officials say the incident happened this morning. A worker separated the animals, but a female tiger died from its injuries.

Mohan, a 10-year-old male tiger, became aggressive with Baha, a 15-year-old Sumatran tiger, during an introduction. Zoo officials say they kept a close eye on the introduction from outside the enclosure, and quickly tried to separate them.

No workers or visitors were harmed or in danger during the incident.

Baha had been with the zoo since 2002 and had five offspring with three previous breeding introductions. Zoo officials had been monitoring Baha and Mohan's behavior since he came to the zoo in December.
