Threatening Note Prompts Lockdown At Hiram Johnson High School

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Hiram Johnson High School was temporarily locked down after a threatening note was found on campus.

The Sacramento Police Department says a letter or note was found thrown into a trash can on campus Wednesday. Written on the note were some threatening comments, although the exact wording has not been released.

Officers were alerted just after the note was found.

School officials put the school on lockdown a little before 1 p.m. as officers investigated the threat.

Investigators believe the threat was not credible, police say. The lockdown was lifted by 2:30 p.m.

Officers remain at the school for the time being.
