Thousands Without Power In Amador, Calaveras Counties After Vehicle Hits Pole

VALLEY SPRINGS (CBS13) - Thousands of people are without power in Valley Springs after a vehicle hit a power pole.

The accident happened Thursday on Highway 26 north of Beal Ranch Road. The vehicle reportedly snapped the pole at its base, knocking out power out to around 14,000 PG&E customers in Amador and Calaveras Counties, according to a statement from the company.

Nearly 10,000 customers were still without power around 1:30 p.m.

The condition of the driver is unknown.
