Thomas Gibson Fired From 'Criminal Minds' After On-Set Altercation

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Thomas Gibson won't be returning to "Criminal Minds" after an on-set altercation, CBS TV studios announced on Friday.

Gibson had portrayed Aaron Hotchner for 11 seasons of the CBS series.

His firing comes after reports of an altercation on the set where he kicked a writer/producer on the show during an argument according to multiple reports.

In a statement on Friday, CBS TV Studios said details of how Gibson's character will leave the show are still being worked out.

Season 12 of Criminal Minds is set to premiere on Sept. 28.
