The Grant Napear Show - September 30, 2014

The Grant Napear Show opened with discussion of the recent coaching change in Oakland, the Raiders firing Dennis Allen last night in favor of assistant coach Tony Sparano, who will serve as the interim head coach this season.

Grant also discussed the likelihood that Jim Harbaugh loses his job as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers upon the conclusion of this season, noting tension between Harbaugh and general manager Trent Baalke as well as the 49ers unwillingness to agree on a contract extension for Harbaugh this past offseason.

Tonight's American League Wild Card play-in game was the next topic of discussion, Grant expressing his concern with the Athletics ability to provide run support for Jon Lester. Grant then had Athletics' radio voice Ken Korach on the show to get his take on the match up with the Royals, Kansas City playing in its first postseason baseball game since 1985.

San Jose Mercury's Tim Kawakami joined Grant next to discuss the firing of Dennis Allen and what the Raiders organization will do moving forward.

Grant concluded today's installment by presenting some more of his thoughts on the Athletics-Royals Wild Card match up, contending that the A's slump has become to steep for them to climb out of at this point in the year.
