Teen Killed In Shooting Near Fair Oaks Park Identified

FAIR OAKS (CBS13) – Authorities have identified the teen shot and killed near a Fair Oaks-area park Friday night.

Just before 10 p.m., deputies received reports of a shooting. When they arrived at the scene, they found that a 19-year-old man had been shot about 250 yards south of the river access and bike trail, outside of the park.

Sunday, the Sacramento County Coroner's Office identified the teen as Citrus Heights resident Miguel Martinez.

Sacramento resident Elijah Ray Lamber has been arrested by detectives for the shooting. The 21-year-old has been booked at Sacramento County Jail and is facing a homicide charge.

Detectives believe the shooting was unintentional. Lambert and the victim apparently knew each other and were hanging out together with a group of people at the time of the shooting.
