Teen Arrested Following SWAT Search In South Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police are searching near a South Sacramento school this morning for a gun following a SWAT search for a teen.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Monday across the street from Rosa parks Middle School, near 68th Avenue and Tamoshanter Way. An officer reportedly tried to stop a 17-year-old boy on his bike. The teenager took off into a neighborhood and police heard gunshots. That's when SWAT officers came to the scene and set up a perimeter.

After several hours, officers found the boy hiding on the roof of a house. Police say a warrant was out for the teen's his arrest, but didn't say why.

The boy is now in custody and faces charges of evading police.
