Police Arrest Suspect in South Sacramento SWAT Standoff

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police officers have arrested a suspect at the center of a standoff that lasted just under four hours.

Around 6:46 p.m. police received reports of a domestic dispute at a residence in the area of 63rd Avenue and 21 Street in Sacramento.

When officers arrived on the scene, they tried to make contact with the suspect who ran inside the home, according to a police statement.

A short time later, a gunshot was heard coming from the home.

Another person who was at the home when police arrived was able to get away safely.

The man surrendered around 10:40 p.m. after officers fired canisters of pepper spray into the home.
