Man, woman found shot dead in rural Sutter County

SUTTER COUNTY – An investigation is underway in rural Sutter County after two people were found shot dead Friday afternoon.

The Sutter County Sheriff's Office says a man and a woman were found with gunshot wounds near Kempton and Brewer roads. 

Both victims have been pronounced dead, deputies say, and a homicide investigation is now underway. Deputies say the incident does not appear to be a suicide.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims. 

Roads are closed in the area due to the investigation, authorities say.
