Suspect Tunnels Into Mini-Mart, Steals Cash And Scratchers
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A suspect is in custody after a burglary in at a south Sacramento business.
The incident happened early Thursday morning along 41st Avenue, near Franklin Boulevard.
Deputies say a man tunneled from a taqueria to a mini-mart through a wall, unknowingly tripping an alarm in the process. He then ran with cash and lottery tickets when he saw officers approaching.

A police K-9 caught the suspect not far away.
The suspect has been identified as 47-year-old Sacramento resident Robert Demetrio Chavez. He has been booked at Sacramento County Jail and is facing burglary charges.
Chavez is ineligible for bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 17.
