Suspect Identified In Stockton I-5 Shooting, Crash

STOCKTON (CBS13) - Police have identified the suspect they arrested in connection to Thursday's shooting that ended in a crash on Interstate 5.

The gunfire started along the 8000 block of Montgomery Avenue and ended in a crash on I-5 near Benjamin Holt Drive.

Stockton Police say it started as an argument between two people. Shots were fired and then two men in different cars fled the scene, driving southbound on I-5. Both crashed in different locations.

One person was found shot in an SUV. The suspect in the other car ran across five lanes of traffic on I-5, but officers took him into custody at a gas station near the highway.

Friday, police identified that suspect as 20-year-old Ronnie Silvester Mitchell. He is facing charges of attempted murder, weapons and gang enhancements in connection to the shooting.
