Armed Suspect Accused Of Killing Man Is Arrested After Standoff In Yuba City

YUBA CITY (CBS13) - An armed suspect who allegedly shot and killed another man in Yuba City was arrested after a standoff with sheriff's deputies.

Roberto Robinson, 22, was booked into the county jail on charges including homicide, according to the Sutter County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting was reported at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the area of Allen Drive and Anthony Way.  Deputies arrived on the scene and found the body of a dead man with multiple gunshot wounds, according to a statement from the Sutter County Sheriff's Office.

The victim was identified as Yuba City resident Jugdeep Mann, 32.

Witnesses told deputies the alleged gunman was seen running into a residence while holding a gun. The residence was not Robinson's house; However, everyone who lived there was able to make it out safely.

Sheriff's department negotiators were on the scene to get a peaceful surrender, the agency says.

A shelter-in-place order was put in effect. No one was forced to evacuate from the neighborhood.
