They won't allow anyone to go near Super Bowl City unchecked. Beyond the metal detectors, cops and the U.S. Coast Guard are walking around with machine guns. There are also undercover officers, and the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and San Francisco police are sharing intelligence.

They're watching every tourist and local, recording and using facial recognition software. The exact number of officers is unknown, but the look of it is enough to fill street corners, stages and rooftops around Super Bowl City.
