Summer Event Spotlight: Music & Market Series On Thursdays
Longer days, sunnier skies and warmer weather signal something special in Concord and around Diablo Valley. The popular Thursday evening Concord Farmers' Market has returned and is again a happy addition in Concord's downtown historic Todos Santos Plaza.
The only way for Thursdays at the Concord Farmers' Market to be even better is to have terrific music concerts happening right alongside. This partnership is the Music & Market Series (Music from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Market from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.) that began in mid-May and continues each Thursday through September 11. The music part of the Music & Market Series offers free concerts in the park with a great lineup of exceptional Bay Area musicians with a full range of favorite sounds including salsa, jazz, zydeco and blues.
There is so much to do and see in Concord and the Diablo Valley, and the incentive to take part in the myriad of events and activities on the calendar is very strong, particularly now. The City of Concord proudly launched the new "Diablo Valley – Defying Expectations" Initiative on Thursday, May 29 during its Music & Market Series. The event truly kept its promise to "Defy Your Expectations" with music, entertainment and giveaways. The Music & Market Series on Thursdays promises to continue the momentum and excitement all summer long.
