Stolen Dump Truck Crashed Into ATM, Suspect Leaves Empty-Handed

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – Deputies say someone stole a dump truck and crashed into an ATM Wednesday morning.

The incident happened in a parking lot near Howe Avenue and Hurley Way. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department says they were called to the scene around 6 a.m. due the ATM's silent alarm going off.

Once deputies were at the scene, they found that a dump truck had been crashed into the ATM.

Running the dump truck's plates, deputies found it had been reported stolen two days ago.

The suspect had already taken ran away by the time deputies arrived. But, they left empty-handed as there was no breech into the ATM, deputies say.

Detectives are still investigating the incident.
