Stockton Taco Truck Driver Wounded In Attempted Robbery

STOCKTON (CBS13) — A taco truck driver is in stable condition after Stockton Police say he was shot during an attempted robbery on Thursday.

The shooting happened at 12:30 p.m. on West Lane at Bianchi Road.

Police say the suspects tried to rob the taco truck operator, but he refused to give them money. The suspects then shot him and fled the scene in a silver SUV. The taco truck driver was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, but is now in stable condition.

Police say the suspects then attempted to rob a nearby smoke shop on Bianchi Road before fleeing northbound on Greensboro Way.

Both suspects are described as black males, standing 5'5" and 130 pounds. The first suspect was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt and a white Nike swoosh on front, and he's armed with a handgun. The second suspect is described as having twisted dreadlocks, wearing a blue shirt and black pants, and is armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
