Stockton Police Shoot And Kill Man During Traffic Stop

STOCKTON (CBS13) — A man was shot and killed by a Stockton Police officer after a traffic stop on Sunday.

Police say at around 11 a.m., they stopped a car on Airport Road that was tied to a crime from earlier in the day. Police won't specify what that crime was.

At  one point, the suspect brandished a large knife and an officer was forced to fire, said police spokesman Joe Silva.

The suspect was transported to the hospital where he would die of his injuries.

A second person inside the car was detained for questioning.
