Stockton Officer Shoots, Kills Man Who Tried To Carjack Woman
STOCKTON (CBS13) - An officer shot and killed a carjacking suspect in Stockton on Wednesday morning.
The scene is near West Lane and Knickerbocker Drive.
Joe Silva with the Stockton Police Department says officers were doing a "check out" of a known high-crime area when, just after 8 a.m., they spotted three men who took off running. Officers gave chase, Silva says.
During the chase, Silva says one of the suspects jumped into the car of a woman driving into the intersection. A struggle ensued between the suspect and the woman.
At some point during the struggle, one officer pulled out his gun and fired at the suspect. The suspect was killed in the shooting, Silva says.
The two other suspects have still not been found.
Police have not released the identity of the man shot and killed.
