Police Identify Stockton Toddler's Stepfather As Person Of Interest In Homicide

STOCKTON (CBS13) — Detectives say the stepfather of a 2-year-old boy is a person of interest in the toddler's homicide.

Stockton Police identified Donte Revels, 31, as a person of interest in the investigation and are searching for him.

On Friday, family members took the toddler to a hospital in Pleasanton where he later died.

By Saturday, investigators concluded that the boy had been injured at his family home in Stockton.

Police interviewed the boy's family, but no one has been taken into custody.

Detectives have not commented on why they are now classifying the boy's death as a homicide. Investigators had been waiting on autopsy results to make their classification.

Editor's note: Police originally identified Revels as the boy's father. Revels is actually the boy's stepfather, police are now saying.
