Man, 24, Suspected Of Intentionally Setting His Mother's Stockton Home On Fire

STOCKTON (CBS13) – The latest on the investigation into a house fire in Stockton on Monday:

2:01 p.m.

Investigators say a 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of intentionally starting the fire.

The man, Zachary Hunt, is facing four charges - including attempted homicide.

Investigators say the house that burned belonged to Hunt's mother.

Three dogs died in the fire. Hunt is facing charges of attempted homicide, cruelty to animals, arson and resisting arrest.

7:59 a.m.

An early morning Stockton house fire is now a crime scene.

When fire crews arrived just after 4:30 a.m. Monday, they found the home on North Lincoln Street engulfed in flames.

A woman was able to get out safely, but her three dogs died in the fire.

Firefighters are investigating exactly what caused the fire.

Authorities are now saying the area is a crime scene investigation, but haven't given the reason why yet.
