State Suspends License Of Davis Daycare Investigated For Child Molestation

DAVIS (CBS13) - The state has suspended the license of Ximena's Daycare in Davis, where the part-owner Eduardo Alejandro Letelier is accused of molesting a child.

Letelier is accused of molested a 4-year-old who was staying at his home.

Letelier was in court today and pleaded not guilty.

Davis Deputy Police Chief David Delaini says the police department took swift action because there may be additional victims who have been molested in the past at the daycare.

In addition to a criminal investigation, the State's Childcare Licensing Division is also conducting its own investigation.

An evaluation report by the state's licensing division found several violations at the daycare, including an excessive number of infants below the age of two, and a weapon inside one of the rooms.

Letelier is still at the Yolo County Jail on $1 million bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 27, 2016.
