SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The holiday spirit will come to the State Capitol for the 85th annual tree lighting ceremony Monday evening.

Gov. Jerry Brown, his wife Anne and twin boys from Los Angeles will light the tree.

The 60-foot-tall white fir, grown near Redding, was delivered on Election Day.

It was decorated with around 10,000 low-energy lights and 900 ornaments made by children and adults with developmental disabilities.

The ceremony gets underway at 5 p.m.

Attendees are asked to bring canned goods for the Sacramento Food Bank.
