Stanislaus County Sheriff's Deputy In Vehicle Hit By Driver Suspected Of DUI

NEWMAN, Calif. (CBS13) - A Stanislaus County Sheriff's deputy was injured early Monday morning when he was hit by a driver accused of DUI.

According to a Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department statement, just after 2 a.m. Deputy David Neuman was on Highway 33 north of Stuhr Road when the suspect, Raymond Musquez III, 21, of Newman, drove up in his vehicle, going about 100 mph, and hit the deputy's vehicle from behind, sending it 200 feet.

Neuman was inside the vehicle when it was hit and was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Musquez was arrested for DUI. He allegedly had a blood alcohol level of .22, which is over twice the legal limit. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on felony DUI and driving with a suspended license charges.
