SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Fire crews are cleaning up after a fire that burned in a Sacramento home that was abandoned.

Just after 3 a.m., crews responded to a fire in a home on Waterford Road, off Ethan Way. Crews quickly knocked down the flames.

According the neighbors, the home has been abandoned for four years.

"Early indications are the fire was started by squatters unknown at this time. An investigator is enroute to conduct a full investigation," said Rusty Van Ruren, a spokesman for the Sacramento Fire Department.

Firefighters say up to 70 percent of the home's interior was destroyed.
