Speed, Distracted Driving Blamed In Madison Avenue Crash

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) - A man is in the hospital after he crashed his car overnight, reportedly distracted by the burrito he was eating, say authorities.

The crashed happened at around 2 a.m. on eastbound Madison Avenue in Sacramento County. The man, who is in his 20s, was eating a burrito and not paying attention to the road, according to a statement from CHP.

The car hit the center divide, rolled several times and ended up blocking several lanes of eastbound Madison Avenue near Coyle Creek Circle not far from the San Juan Avenue intersection.

The driver was transported to Mercy San Juan Medical Center for minor injuries.

Officers believe speed may have also been a factor in the crash.
